What is Africa Inland Mission? What is AIM's primary purpose? Who can serve with AIM? What is the process of becoming a missionary with AIM? How can I be involved in AIM's ministry without actually going overseas? May I get a copy of AIM's doctrinal statement? Does AIM offer short-term opportunities? Africa Inland
Mission (AIM) is a nondenominational Christian missionary sending agency.
We have been in existence since 1895, and today have more than 850 missionaries
serving in 15 African countries as well as the islands of the Indian Ocean.
We also have outreach to Africans living in the United States, Europe
and Canada.
AIM’s stated goal is to plant maturing churches of the Lord Jesus Christ through the evangelization of unreached people groups and the effective preparation of church leaders. Our ministries
are diverse. They range from agriculture to surgery, but all contribute
in some way to the planting of maturing churches and the effective preparation
of church leaders. Vital, growing
Christians who are 19 years of age or older can be considered for service
through AIM. Ministry opportunities range from two months to a lifetime.
You’re already taking a great first step. You’re getting to know AIM and our goals and objectives. Next, introduce yourself to us by filling out this form, or visit our “search opportunities” database to see current personnel needs in AIM. And please, if you don’t find what you’re interested in, contact us anyway. Perhaps you’re interested in a ministry we’ve never thought of. Or perhaps a perfect opportunity exists that simply has yet to be posted. We would love to hear from you. Following an interview with an AIM Regional Administrator or Area Committee, you’ll begin the formal application process. Our formal application is a biggy, but think of it as an opportunity to have a nice hot cup of tea or coffee. You’ll share a "life sketch", complete a doctrinal questionnaire, and provide us with references. Applications are fun. Really! The next step is attending Orientation School which is held at AIM’s beautiful U.S. Headquarters located about twenty miles north of New York City. It’s a wonderful time of learning, getting to know others, and even getting to know yourself a little better. Finally,
after being appointed to AIM, we’ll work with you to finalize your
assignment and establish support requirements. You’ll then share
your future ministry with friends and churches as you seek to raise prayer
and financial support. We’ll assist and encourage you in this process. Not everyone is called to overseas ministry. Many individuals pray for AIM and our missionaries everyday. Daily prayer requests are posted on this site, or you can receive our monthly prayer guide, Fuel for Prayer Fires. Some churches and individuals choose a specific people group to pray for through our Adopt-A-People program. You can also
be involved through giving.
Our missionaries need financial backing in order to serve. Consider contributing
to the support of one or more missionaries. Or you can also consider contributing
to AIM’s many exciting projects
that touch lives, and advance God’s kingdom in Africa.
You can click
here to read our doctrinal statement, or we’d be glad to mail
you a copy.
