Steps for Short Term Seekers click
here
1. You’re
already taking a great first step. You’re getting to know
AIM and our goals and objectives. Next, introduce yourself to us
by filling out our contact form,
or visit our “search
opportunities” to see current personnel needs in AIM.
Perhaps you’re interested in a ministry we’ve never
thought of. Or perhaps a perfect opportunity exists that simply
has yet to be posted. We would love to hear from you.
2. After
contacting us, you'll be asked to complete a Preliminary Questionnaire.
This gives you the opportunity to tell us a little about you, such
as your testimony and educational background.
3. Next,
you'll arrange for a personal interview with an AIM Regional
Administrator and/or Area
Committee.
4. A formal
application may be issued at this time. Our formal application is
a biggy, but think of it as an opportunity to have a nice hot cup
of tea or coffee. You’ll share a "life sketch",
complete a doctrinal questionnaire, and provide us with references.
Applications are fun. Really!
5. Each candidate
of AIM is required to attend Candidate Week before being appointed
as a missionary. Information on finances, travel, and Mission policies
is given.
6. After
being appointed to AIM we will work with you to finalize your assignment
in conjunction with the International Office. You will have the
opportunity to share about the ministry as you seek prayer partners,
monthly support, and outgoing funds. Financial and medical clearance
is also needed before departure to your assignment.
7. The last
step before your assignment is to attend Africa-based Orientation
which is designed to prepare you for life and ministry in Africa.
Subjects such as cross-cultural communication, interpersonal relationships
and the spiritual life of the missionary are discussed.
